Kel-T-Grafix
Kel-T-Grafix began in 1989, when Kelly Thorson purchased a local garage from a family friend
in Holdfast, Saskatchewan. The two-bay garage and storefront was converted into a workshop,
where Kelly began the process of applying a lifelong love of art into the successful business
that is Kel-T-Grafix today.
Lost Mountain Glass Works
As the year 2005 drew to a close, it marked the end of the celebration of the Saskatchewan
Centennial. For Kelly, it also marked the end of a year of learning and discovery in the craft
of reverse glass artistry that was popular in the late 1800's. These techniques include surface
treatments such as acid etching, animal hide glue chipping, sandblasting, depth carving,
solution gilding, mirroring, gold leafing, smalts, abalone, crystals and other glass
embellishments. In addition to incorporating these techniques into Kel-T-Grafix's products,
Kelly's passion for this rediscovered art has also led to a new venture, Lost Mountain Glass
Works, which was established in 2006.
